New Wines Released

All summer long, our winemaker and cellar manager were working away in the our wine cellar (complete with a sign stating “Mad

Harvest

Scientists Only.”) Well, their hard work certainly has paid off! This month alone, we’ve released six new Estate wines that we can’t wait to share with you. To check out our current wine list, click HERE. On a side note, if you didn’t have the chance to visit us over the summer, we’ve all introduced some fantastic new items to our tapas menu, which can be viewed HERE.

Grape Harvest

Mother Nature is a fickle friend to every farmer, and she certainly made this grow season tricky with the rain and high temperatures. As a result, our harvesting began quite early this year (about a month earlier than previous seasons) with our Pinot Noir, the thin-skinned “Prince” of our vineyard, being the first to go.

We have two additional harvest dates this week on Tuesday, September 26th & Wednesday, September 27th. For more details and to register, send us an email or contact the Winery at (609)770-8782 ext. 5.

With that being said, please note that due to Mother Nature’s unpredictability, this may be your last chance to volunteer this season. If you would like to be on the

Magic

email list for future pickings, please send us an email to WillowCreekWinery@gmail.com Subject: Grape Pickers.

ONE Spirit: Body, Mind, Spirit Fair

We are very excited to be working once again with ONE Spirit to host their Body, Mind, Spirit Fair here at our farm over Columbus Day Weekend on Saturday, October 7th & Sunday, October 8th 11am-5pm. Top THREE things Brides regret NOT doing on their Wedding Day!

Top THREE Things Brides Regret NOT Doing on Their Wedding Day!

1.) Hiring a Videographer

Having special moments from your wedding day to watch over and over again is priceless and you will treasure the video forever. While it is an extra cost, wedding videos offer the opportunity to relive the memories of your wedding day on a more personal level. You may not realize this it in the first 10 years, but after 20 years, you’ll be wishing you had that video to look back on.

2.) Having All the Photos Your Guests Take

Experience your special day all over again through the eyes of your guests and have all your photos in one album! Wedding photo apps help collect all the photos your guests take on their smartphones, and puts them into one album. Brides and grooms can even establish a wedding hashtag for social media that will aggregate all photos using that hashtag.

3.) Having a Live Event & Wedding Painter

Live painting is the new wedding reception trend you’re going to love! In the age of cameras and phones, it’s easy to forget how special moments used to be captured. Besides giving yourself a cherished, unique gift that’ll make an awesome conversation starter in your home, your guests will love the artistic element added to your reception-and they may even be captured in the painting! It could even be fun to have something included in your wedding that you can’t see the results of immediately.

Wine & Paint Opening Night ~ July 3rd

Wine & Paint Monday

Starting July 3rd, join us inside the beautiful Willow Creek Winery every Monday 6pm-8pm for an enchanting evening of painting along with wine!

The class is taught by Carol King Hood, a SOMA Gallery artist. Painting since early childhood, she had the special opportunity to study under nationally known artist, Frieda Richter from age ten to sixteen. She received training in fine art fundamentals, composition, charcoal life drawing, oil painting, in both outdoor – plein air style – and studio painting environments. After attending college, she held several positions as an Illustrator and Graphic Artist, while continuing to develop her fine arts style. While raising her four children, she also worked as a freelance artist and personally created a line of greeting cards which she has continued to develop and expand. Many of her paintings, prints and cards can now be seen on her website, www.carolkinghood.net.

Hood, a dear friend to our entire farm family and our resident artist, also has her own studio on the farm. In her “Little Renoir Studio,” Hood devotes her time to her work (often accompanied by her studio cat, Mr. Fatty Renoir) and also teaches personalized classes with students of all ages, from as young as four to well into adulthood. Among her many talents is her ability to make art accessible to anyone, no matter a person’s age or artistic background.

Each week will feature two of Hood’s works, which students may imitate or use as inspiration for their own unique creations. The opening night class on July 3, 2017 will feature the following two paintings (the hollyhocks were painted here in our very own gardens!):

Sunrise from Texas Ave.
Hollyhocks from our Alice Garden

Tickets are priced at $55 including a glass of any wine or sangria. Tickets include all art supplies including paint, easel, and a blank canvas to create your own masterpiece! Our tapas menu is offered throughout the night as well as wines and sangria by glass or bottle.

Only a limited number of slots are available each week, and tickets must be purchased in advance so please call ahead to reserve your canvas.

New Wilde Cock Wine Blends

New Wilde Cock Wine Blends

Just an update on our two new Wilde Cock wines! Check us out at https://willowcreekwinerycapemay.com/our-wines/current-wine-list/ to view our current wine list and for more details.

In case you didn’t know, our wine menu changes every few months as the most popular sell out and new ones are released. While many wine lovers are aware of the differences between vintages produced from the same exact vines, you may not have known that our blends change periodically as well. Every year our winemaker and cellar manager work closely to determine exactly which wines should be blended to produce something truly magnificent. The real power of blending lies in the potential for adding complexity to the resulting wine — multiple flavors and aromas, something to stimulate every part of your mouth, a wine that has plenty of fruit at the start and something left for the finish. While there are many incredible grapes that are easily capable of standing on their own as they are transformed into impressive wines, a winemaker is always in pursuit of the perfect balance of fruit, acid, tannin, alcohol, color and (sometimes) oak.

Our Wilde Cock Red and Wilde Cock White table wines have always been among our most popular agricultural products, and we are more excited than ever about their brand new blends!

Previously a blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and Chambourcin, our Wilde Cock Red is now a special blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from our farm and Tempranillo from our friends in Santa Barbara, both aged in French oak with great acids for food and a delicious spice to make this a very special treat. Use caution as this “knock-back red” has a drinkability that might turn you into a Wilde Cock!

Equally exciting, our Wilde White, which was a blend of Malvasia Bianca and Chardonnay, is now a stainless steel fermented blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio, making this the ultimate summertime beach blend that is still able to stand up to a rich dessert and even smoked chicken.

20% Tempranillo                                                                                                                                                     20% Pinot Grigio
